Healthcare Trends Reveal Increased Demand for Convenience, Control, and Relevance
All of us interact with the healthcare system to some degree, and those interactions aren't usually something we look forward to. To improve the situation, two recent studies show that most of us—as healthcare consumers—want convenience, more holistic medical approaches, and advanced digital tools that facilitate the management of our day-to-day health in between doctors' visits.
According to one study, 71% of consumers say that customized alerts and reminders are important to their health. What's more, 54% expressed a desire for non-traditional care options that involve diet, exercise, and counseling.
Similarly, other research found that most healthcare consumers are dissatisfied with the traditional healthcare experience, calling for insurance plans and providers to make "digital front door" improvements in access and scheduling capabilities.
These and other findings across the two surveys help explain why more people are embracing digital solutions to enhance their reliance on traditional healthcare alone, by gaining access to support outside of the doctor’s office.
